Senegal: Manjak Collection

Manjak or “Bleenj” is a ceremonial fabric made on a traditional handloom by the weavers of the Manjak community in Senegal.  Manjak fabric plays an important role in marking the main rites of passages in a person’s life from birth, coming of age to death.
